Review: Sex and the City 2 Soundtrack

Have you heard?

SATC2 (Sex and the City 2) is now in movie theatres everywhere. While I haven't seen the movie, I did have the opportunity to listen to and review the soundtrack. I really loved the soundtrack more than I thought I would. The first several songs are very Middle Eastern (which is in my family heritage) and so I really love the sound of the sitar and other non-western instruments. The opening songs on the soundtrack were just the thing for me. Others in my family said its sounded more like "Arabian Nights" or Bollywood music. That might give you a sense of the sounds of the instruments.

Then come the blockbuster songs. I know everyone is in love with "Love is Your Color" and while it was a good song, it didn't make my favorite list from the album. I loved, loved, loved both of Liza Minelli's songs. Fantastic singer and she gives it her all. I'm a former theatre major and musical theatre is something near and dear to me. When the Men's Chorus sang show tunes and we ended with "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered", it was like musical theatre heaven.
