Wordless Wednesday

Life is not measured
by the number of breaths we take,
but by the moments
that take our breath away.

Elementary School recently had Spirit Week. One day, they had to dress as their favorite book characters.
Nathan went as Dan from Bakugan. Dan has a yellow shirt with red pants and jacket, plus spiked hair.

Good thing we hadn't cut his hair yet. We spiked as best we could.

Then we remembered the glasses Dan wears. Nathan found a matching set.

He even wore a Bakugan logo on his jacket to help identify who he was.

Rebekah went (go figure) as a princess. She chose her Aurora dress.
(That's "Sleeping Beauty" for those of you who aren't in the know.)

We tried to do princess hair just like Aurora's hair.

My pretty princess.

Family Fun Times Swimming

We recently had a little hotel stay and got to be where there were water slides. Great fun!!! The kids were wrinkled prunes and got to spend a lot of time swimming, sliding and splashing.

Isn't she beautiful??

They had a kiddie pool with two small slides that Rebekah enjoyed going down.

But, as you can see, she also loves going down the BIG slide "all by herself". She made the height requirement and was thrilled to be a big kid.

Nathan also had tons of fun sliding down the water slides and swimming.

Andrew also enjoyed the pool and both of the big slides...but he's a wily teenager who doesn't like having his picture taken. So this is the best photo I have. Back-lit and you can't see him. At least he's happy about it. Haha

Review of #StyleUnited Website

I had the opportunity to preview and check out the Style United website. Now, this same site is available to you. There is a lot of information on this one site regarding beauty and fashion. My favorite portion of the site were the surveys where you can have a customized list created just for you. I loved the ideas on makeup. It took into account my coloring and preferences and the style was right on the mark.

What a great tool for anyone wanting to look their best or for teenagers trying to develop their own style. Best news?? It's a free website. Head on over and join at StyleUnited.com. Also follow on Twitter @StyleUnited for even more tips. One other noteworthy point--the site employs  stylists and make up artists. Each day, they give tips that are tailored to you and your coloring and your style (based on those surveys).

Be sure to check out the StyleUnited: New View, New You Sweepstakes where you could win one of two $500 shopping sprees at Macy's or Nordstrom.

Disclosure: I was given the opportunity to preview the site and may be given a free product for posting a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Recalls Plus App Review

I'm new to the world of smartphones, but I am finding some real benefits to having one. I found out about a new app that can be used on Facebook, Android or iPhones. It's called Recalls Plus. And--great news for money conscious moms--it's a FREE app. Just download and go.

SheSpeaksbutton  It puts the recalls from several government sites together in one location. You can set it up to search and push relevant recalls to you. Since I still have one child in a car seat, car seats is one I set up to monitor. If a recall happens in my criteria, it will push a notification to me. Otherwise, I can open the app at anytime and have the whole list available to look at.

I want to be sure to mention that this new app allows you to keep track of child product and food allergen recalls, as well as keep an eye on products your children use most with Personal Watch Lists. The food recalls really interested me after recently getting ill off of bad food. It's easy to use and has great information.

I was so excited that SheSpeaks provided the opportunity to download and review this app. If you would like to try it, go to the Reecalls Plus Download Page to download the app. And to keep up with all the latest news on Recalls Plus and SheSpeaks, please follow on twitter @shespeaksup and @recallsplus and use the #RecallsPlus hashtag.

If you like to remain up to date on recall information for children's products (like toys and equipment) and/or food recalls, be sure to give the free app a try.
