Jesus Today: Devotions for Kids Review and #Giveaway

Disclosure: I received a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I was very excited to be selected to review Jesus Today: Devotions for Kids. I have a 9 year old daughter and this sounded like something she would enjoy. Happy to say, she really does enjoy these devotions. They are written in an easy to understand format that kids can easily grasp. I would even say it helped me several times because of the writing. Sometimes, I learn the most from things meant for children. I can grasp it when it is simplified.

My daughter and I have been reading them in random order. Whatever strikes our fancy is what we read. My personal favorite so far has been #106 - Keep Holding On. "Hold on to this hope that I've given you. Let it make you strong," were the two sentences that just about sucker punched me. My daughter didn't realize it, but I had been going through a time where I didn't even realize that I had some feelings of hopelessness. The corresponding verses helped me see that hope abounds and that God was sending a lifeline to me through a children's devotional book. Wow!

I think Rebekah's favorite devotion so far has been "My Love Goes on Forever." It has one of her favorite verses to go with it. Psalm 136: 1-3 ~ "Give thanks to the Lord because he is good. Hi love continues forever. Give thanks to the God over all gods. His love continues forever. Give thanks the the Lord of all lords. His love continues forever." And she has always found great joy in knowing that God has loved her from the foundation of time, before she was even born, and will continue to love her to the end of the ages. That's pretty powerful.
