Purex Crystals Limited Edition Fabulously Fresh Scent

Have you tried Purex Crystals, yet? It's an in-wash fragrance booster to keep your laundry smelling fresh and clean. Right now, the current limited edition scent is Fabulously Fresh. I wish I could let you smell it as it is a whiff of spring. And with cold and rainy days like we've had at my house recently, I need a whiff of spring to keep me going.

Many people have asked me how it works, so I went to Purex and found this infographic for you:
You put the crystals in with your laundry at the start of the wash (and yes, it's safe for HE machines, too). Then the scent is infused into the clothes and towels and gives you long lasting scent and freshness. I have to admit that the smell is a little strong for me because I don't like much if any scent on my clothes. I love using for my towels--especially the slightly older ones that don't smell as fresh as they used to. Same goes with swim towels. You know how they just start to smell a little 'funny' over time. Now I keep them smelling fresh--Fabulously Fresh.
Keep watching my blog - there are going to be some Purex giveaways coming up in May.

5 Fashionable Pieces You Should Bring in Paris' Tourist Attractions

Anyone who’s been to Paris will be head over heels in love with her beauty. With the city full of colossal and intricate structures, streets brimming with arts, as well as stylish people going out and about the city, you’ll feel enthralled to blend in. While you’re packing, make sure you bring a pair of gladiator heels, oversized sunglasses, designer handbag, a perfectly fitting trench coat, and an A-line dress that will take you from a simple tourist look to a blooming Parisian.

Stylish Gladiators at the Eiffel
When visiting the Eiffel Tower, don’t just take photos. Instead, dream of having lunch or dinner with a magnificent view by reserving a seat at one of the most posh restaurants up at the Eiffel Tower. Of course, you need to be extra pretty and sexy so wear a pair of black gladiator heels. Surely, your date can’t resist you from head to toe. 58 Tour Eiffel serves lunch starting at €21 and dinner from €80. Again, make reservations early. You don’t want to be waiting in line for hours in heels.

Designer Handbag at Avenue des Champs-Élysées
You know you’re a true blooded fashionista when you’re ready to flaunt your designer handbag in Paris. Make sure they’re original, especially when you’re walking along the most famous street Avenue des Champs-Élysées. Not only is the street one of the most popular ones in the world but it’s also one of the most expensive strips. If you’re after splurging and shopping, skip the mall and head to Champs-Élysées. Shops like Annick Goutal, Salvatorre Ferragamo, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Zara, Guerlain, Mont Blanc and a lot more can be found there. Otherwise, just stroll along the street and flaunt your designer handbag.

Oversized Sunglasses at the Restaurants
A lot of locals and tourists like to spend their afternoon drinking coffee, beer or wine in restaurants with tables and seats outside. That’s because people love to see cars and people passing by as well as appreciate the magnificent structures of Paris. Even when spring brings the cold chill, people like staying outdoors because of the sun. While you’re sipping coffee or wine while chatting with a friend, make sure to be fashionably snob in a pair of oversized sunglasses.

Trench Coat at Pont Des Arts, Pont Neuf and Pont Alexandre III
There’s something about bridges that make Paris connected altogether. As you enjoy the cold weather Paris brings, don’t forget to bring a stylish and perfectly-fitting trench coat as you stroll along Pont Des Arts, Pont Neuf and Pont Alexandre III which cross along the River Seine. It’s one of the romantic places where you hold hands or have your first kiss. Don’t forget to leave your padlock latched at the metal railings of Pont Des Arts if you can find a place.

A-Line Dress at the Louvre
Think Blair Waldorf and you’ll get inspired to dress like a pristine Parisian at the Louvre. If you understand the values of paintings and sculptures, walk in style and class in an A-Line dress. It’s difficult to finish the entire arts collection in one day so be prepared to dress comfortably. Flats work well with an A-Line dress and that’s comfy, too. No need to buy tickets in advance as there are lots of places to buy tickets when you’re in Paris. There’s a souvenir shop at the Carrousel du Louvre as soon as you exit the Metro. Be fashionably breathtaking when you visit Paris.

Beauty Encounter Review

I recently learned of a new site, Beauty Encounter. While I don't wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis, but I enjoy using quality products to get a better look that lasts. I do enjoy making occasions special by using perfume. My problem? I enjoy costly perfumes.

I was pleased to discover that Beauty Encounter has a Discount Fragrance section to their website. I found every perfume, eau de parfum and body splash I've ever purchased on their site. And all fragrances are offered at a discount, some up to 75% off. Most that I like to purchase were discounted 40-48% off retail. Every fragrance name that I could think of I was able to find on the Beauty Encounter site. I found it to be a comprehensive store for all of your perfume and cologne needs.

I also checked out the Shopping Rewards plan, called My B-E Perks. It's free to become a My B-E Perks member and when you do, you will earn points on every purchase. One dollar = one point. Save points and redeem for a credit off of your order (free merchandise). I believe that even if you don't plan to spend to a reward level, join the program. It's better to get those points than find out later you could have had a reward.

Shipping is normally $5.95 per order for the contiguous 48 states. To sweeten the deal, Beauty Encounter offers free shipping on all orders of $60 or more, everyday. No need to wait for a special day to shop, you can have free shipping every day. I also found Beauty Encounter offers a variety of payment options. Credit card, Amazon Payments and PayPal are your online options. You may also send in a cashier's check or money order.

Before you think Beauty Encounter is a fragrance site, be sure to check out their make up, accessories, hair care, body care and their at home lines of products. With discounts on almost every item, you can save on many of the daily care items you purchase anyway and get free shipping if your order is $60 or more.

I found Beauty Encounter to offer so much more than just makeup or just fragrances. It is a website full of interesting items at discounted prices.

War Horse Makes Omaha Premiere with Discounted Family Ticket Night

OMAHA PREMIERE OF WAR HORSE
FEATURES FAMILY NIGHT WITHSPECIALLY PRICED TICKETS
WINNER OF FIVE TONY AWARDS®
INCLUDING BEST PLAY

PREMIERES AT OMAHA’S ORPHEUM THEATER
APRIL 8 - 13

For my friends in Omaha who enjoy theatre. Be sure to check out the information regarding War Horse--which opens tomorrow night. This year, Omaha Performing Arts is trying out a new method to bring families to see live theatre. I applaud their efforts to make live theatre (and Broadway Tours) affordable for families. Please note, if you purchase tickets from other sources besides Ticket Omaha, you might be charged higher fees or not be able to get the family discount.

The Tuesday, April 8, Omaha premiere of the National Theatre of Great Britain’s epic WAR HORSE, winner of five Tony Awards®, including best play, will feature a Family Night with specially priced tickets. Omaha Performing Arts will offer a limited number of tickets at 50% off for this Broadway touring production to introduce this”landmark theatrical event” to Omaha area young people.

A limited number of tickets will be available at one-half price for the opening night performance of WAR HORSE, Tuesday, April 8. Tickets will be available to one adult and one child, age 9 to 18 years of age. All other tickets are available for the show which will run Tuesday, April 8, through Sunday, April 13.
The show is being presented by Omaha Performing Arts as part of its Broadway Series.

The half-price tickets can be purchased at $32.25 each from Ticket Omaha by using the promotion code – FAMILY14. There’s a limit of one ticket per adult and one ticket per child. No more than two tickets per adult or per family. Seating will be available in the Grand Tier and balcony areas of Omaha’s Orpheum Theater. This show is recommended for children ages 9 and up. Additional tickets may be purchased at the regular ticket prices. All tickets are available online at TicketOmaha.com; by phone at 402.345.0606; or at the Ticket Omaha box office inside the Holland Performing Arts Center, 1200 Douglas Streets,
Omaha, Neb. Ticket Omaha is the official ticket outlet for all performances of WAR HORSE.

Michael Morpurgo’s beloved novel, War Horse, is also the inspiration for Steven Spielberg’s feature film of the same name, which earned six Oscar nominations including Best Picture. Hailed by The New York Times as “theatrical magic,” WAR HORSE is the powerful story of young Albert’s beloved horse, Joey, who has been enlisted to fight for the English in World War I. In a tale the New York Daily News calls “spellbinding, by turns epic and intimate,” Joey is caught in enemy crossfire and ends up serving both sides of the war before landing in no man’s land. Albert, not old enough to enlist, embarks on a treacherous mission to find his horse and bring him home. What follows is a remarkable tale of courage, loyalty and friendship, filled with stirring music and songs and told with the some of the most innovative stagecraft of our time.

The tour of WAR HORSE, which was adapted from the book by Morpurgo and by Nick Stafford, is directed by Bijan Sheibani based on the original Tony Award®-winning direction by Marianne Elliott and
Tom Morris, and presented in association with Handspring Puppet Company. At the heart of the show are life-sized puppets which bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to thrilling life on stage.

In addition to Best Play, WAR HORSE received Tony Awards® for Best Direction of a Play
(Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris), Best Scenic Design of a Play (Rae Smith), Best Lighting Design of a Play (Paule Constable), and Best Sound Design of a Play (Christopher Shutt). A Special Tony Award® was given to Handspring Puppet Company for their integral work on the production.

The lead producers of the national tour of WAR HORSE are Bob Boyett and the National Theatre of Great Britain.

The Broadway touring production of WAR HORSE comes to Omaha Tuesday, April 8, through
Sunday, April 13, 2014. Performances of WAR HORSE will be at Omaha’s Orpheum Theater, 409 S. 16th St., on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, April 8, 9 and 10, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, April 11, at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, April 12, at 2:00 and 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday, April 13, at 1:30 and 7:00 p.m.

Omaha Performing Arts Announces 2014-2015 Season

I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Omaha Performing Arts Season Announcement last night. It was a wonderful Gala event with some sneak peek performances by a couple of the upcoming season shows.

RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR WITH THE RADIO CITY ROCKETTES will make its Omaha debut November 13-30, 2014.

The first announcement was The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Starring The Rockettes. I always wanted to be a Rockette, but I didn't make the height requirement (and if we can be honest, my talent isn't high enough either). But, it doesn't stop me from loving the Rockettes and I plan to be first in line to see the Christmas Spectacular. It was noted that a full sized Double Decker Bus begins taking the Rockettes and the audience on a journey around New York City at Christmastime. It should be a holiday spectacular event.

Keep it going with Broadway shows such as Pippin and Motown the Musical. Special engagements of Blue Man Group and Sinbad. Then the other series feature Dinosaur Train Live and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. It is a season packed with something for everyone. Be sure to check out the National Geographic Live! series and the Jazz entertainers coming. Below is the full list of the series and shows.

Sinbad, ranked by Comedy Central as one
of the 100 best comedians of all time,
will be at the Holland Center February 6, 2015.

2014/2015 Broadway Series
The Omaha Performing Arts 2014/2015 Broadway Series has five productions, opening with the Omaha debut of THE RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR, STARRING THE ROCKETTES, running November 13-30, 2014. This all new production features dazzling scenery and special effects, glamorous Rockettes costumes and choreography and a 50-foot LED screen that will enhance the show with breathtaking imagery, including the amazing “New York at Christmas” scene. The RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR is a beloved family holiday tradition and is the perfect show for all ages.

Performing January 27 through February 1, 2015 is the four-time Tony Award®-winning
CAMELOT®, which tells the story of the infamous love triangle between King Arthur, Queen Guinevere and Sir Lancelot. Next in the series is the 2013 Tony®-winning revival PIPPIN, running March 3-8, 2015.
PIPPIN tells the story of a young prince on a death-defying journey to find meaning in his existence, and features breathtaking acrobatics. MOTOWN THE MUSICAL also opens that month, with performances March 25-29, 2015. MOTOWN recounts the true American dream story of Motown founder Berry Gordy’s journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson and many more. Eight-time Tony Award®-winner ONCE closes out the Broadway Series May 12-17, 2015. Featuring an ensemble of actor/musicians who play their own instruments onstage, ONCE tells the tale of a Dublin street musician who's about to give up on
his dream when a beautiful young woman takes a sudden interest in his songs.
